Cannulate with confidence, regardless of experience.
Advanced ultrasound capability, simplified for generalist clinicians.
Portable worflow
Handheld, ultraportable design, enabling use directly at the point of care.
Minimal training time
Only 15-30 mins of clinician training required before use
Felix
Ultrasound-guided vascular access. Radically simple.
Felix is a handheld ultrasound platform built to help any clinician find, assess and select the right vein and site for an intravenous cannula that lasts until treatment is complete.
Felix brings portable ultrasound guidance directly to the point of care, helping clinicians visualise veins in real time and place IV lines accurately on the first attempt. Compact, intuitive, and built for clinical workflows, Felix is designed to fit seamlessly into clinical practice, reducing procedure time and improving the patient experience.
This device has not been submitted for regulatory approval and therefore is not yet available for commercial sale or clinical use.

The Felix difference
Felix helps clinicians make the decisions that matter before the needle goes in.
Felix is a handheld ultrasound platform built to help any clinician find, assess and select the right vein and site for an intravenous cannula that lasts until treatment is complete.
Precise vessel location
Felix demonstrated 0.21 mm localisation accuracy.
Felix uses ultrasound to localise vessels beneath the skin, including vessels beyond the reach of visual assessment alone.
Benchtop testing demonstrated 0.21 mm localisation accuracy and detection at depths beyond near-infrared technology.
Designed with and for the people who use it
Felix has been shaped by input from 400+ clinicians throughout development.
Clinician input has informed Felix throughout development, from identifying unmet needs through to device ergonomics, vessel assessment, usability, workflow integration and training.
This helps ensure the technology fits clinical practice rather than asking practice to fit the technology.
Better vessel and site selection
Felix identified 4–10× more veins in an cancer (DIVA) population, with a 150% improvement in quality of vein & site (all forearm)
Felix helps clinicians move beyond simply finding a visible vein by providing information about potential vessel targets before insertion.
In patients with difficult IV access, this resulted in more non-visible veins being identified and higher-quality sites being selected for cannulation.
Tested in real world difficult cases
Vessels up to 20 mm detectable in benchtop studies and up to 11.3 mm deep veins have been cannulated in patients.
In a 2026 study at Fiona Stanley Hospital, 55% of patients had non-visible, non-palpable veins.
Veins were 4.5 mm deep on average, with vessels up to 11.3 mm deep successfully cannulated during the study.
Designed for rapid adoption
Clinicians used Felix after just 15–30 minutes of training, with no additional education on procedure skill or catheter education.
In a recent study at Fiona Stanley Hospital , 67% of clinicians had little or no previous ultrasound experience.
They received 15–30 minutes of Felix device training, without additional cannulation technique or catheter education, before using the system in real patients.
